About us
À𝐝ì𝐫ę, made for the way you actually live
Irédire began in 2019 with one belief that has not changed since: Adire should not be something you save for occasions.
For years, Adire lived in the ceremonial part of a Nigerian woman’s wardrobe. It came out for weddings, for Sundays, for the events that needed a statement. The rest of the week, she wore something else.
We thought that was a waste of a beautiful fabric.
So we started making Adire the way women actually dress. Pieces you can put on at 7am without planning around them. Cuts that work in an office, at a meeting, on a commute, and still hold up when the day runs long. Comfortable enough that you forget you are wearing something made by hand.
Our prints are our own

From an online shop to the Residence
We sold online for our first two years, mostly on Instagram, mostly to women who found us because a friend was wearing something they liked.
Today we are at the Irédire Residence, 33 Lake Chad crescent Maitama, Abuja. Our flagship store where you get to meet our pieces live and enjoy a beautiful shopping experience
The Residence is more than a shop. Our Courtyard hosts intimate gatherings, and we open our space to other designers for pop-ups, particularly those who do not have a store of their own or who are based outside Abuja. We know what it is like to build without a storefront.
About our founder
Irédire was founded by Adebola Adefila, an entrepreneur of more than two decades whose love of African prints ran alongside a long career in manufacturing.
Her rule for her own wardrobe became the rule for the brand. However beautiful a piece is, if it is not comfortable, it is not worth wearing. She has said plainly that she wants Adire embraced as regular everyday wear, and she has spent the years since 2019 proving it is possible.
In 2023 she was named among Nigeria’s 100 Most Inspiring Women by Leading Ladies Africa.
